IVAR ARTHUR AIZKALNS

On Thursday, June 18, 2009, of Germantown, MD.   He served with the US Army in Vietnam and his community for 34 years as a Metro Transit Police Officer.  Beloved father of Laura and Jason Aizkalns; former spouse of Mary Jane Aizkalns; son of Alma Aizkalns of Fredonia, NY ; brother of Sylvia Freije of Palos Verdes, CA and Cindy Hebda of Chicago, IL.  Memorial service at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, on Saturday, July 11 at 1:00 pm.  Interment Private.  Memorial contributions may be made to Montgomery Hospice Society/Casey House, 1355 Piccard Drive, Suite 100, Rockville, MD  20850 or HEROES, Inc., 666 11th Street, N.W., Suite 300, Washington, D.C.  20001.
